ABSTRACT

This chapter conceptualises the living methodologies that are an intrinsic part of my creation of place-spaces. It provides a genealogy of the development of diverse ways of researching with post-philosophies and post-theories, highlighting the transdisciplinary approach taken in the book. Initially, there are discussions and problematisations of data and different forms of data. Next, there follows explanations of the lineages of post-qualitative inquiry, research-creation, and undisciplined inquiry. A critical and de-colonial perspective is considered to ensure that the lineages of Black and Indigenous scholars are not left out of theorisations of immanent and relational methodologies. This chapter includes the ethical underpinnings that have been used in the research, and the development of living theories and living methodologies. One of the key methods that underpins living methodology is walking-with, and this is explored and explained. The chapter draws to a close by connecting joy with living methodologies and highlighting the living methodologies employed in this book.
