ABSTRACT

AI technologies have revolutionized the learning process for students by offering personalized learning experiences and assessing their strengths and weaknesses to customize lessons according to their specific needs. Teachers greatly benefited from the provision of useful insights on student performance and learning patterns, as well as the streamlining of their assessment and administrative tasks. Nevertheless, reaping these benefits requires the active involvement of all stakeholders involved and is not without challenges. Thus, in this chapter, we examine the necessary actions you should take, the potential challenges you may face, and the future research directions you may pursue. Our recommendations are given to all stakeholders, such as educational technology developers, students, teachers, parents, schools, policymakers, and educational researchers. Their main purpose is to advance a research agenda focused on promoting ethical, responsible, healthy, and productive use of AI in education. These enable all the individuals with a vested interest to make well-informed choices to develop a more sustainable and equitable future education where AI serves as a powerful tool for positive transformation.
