ABSTRACT

The larger question of putting research-based evidence to use in the world has attracted generations of thought because it turns out to be so complex, especially in the context of fields like health and society in which change is never simply a matter of what science suggests. In this chapter we reflect on some of the opportunities available to engage in wider initiatives associated with implementing knowledge into practice, bringing the evolving best science to the attention of those closest to policy and planning decision-making, and working with our various worlds of practice to co-develop action strategies toward a preferred future.
