ABSTRACT
This final chapter is a reflection on my own early aspirations to change the world with the applied qualitative research approach that became interpretive description. Although we are each but a small cog in a large and complex wheel, looking back does inspire a sense of hope and confidence that change actually does happen and that those engaged in this kind of work are playing a meaningful role within it. I conclude with a sustained sense of excitement and optimism for the power of the contribution scholars and practitioners in all of our applied fields make in their desire for a better world.
