ABSTRACT
The academic field of disinformation research is expanding rapidly, reflecting the increasing impact of misinformation on contemporary society. However, with a growing body of scholarly publications, the field is experiencing conceptual fragmentation and overlaps. The chapter provides an overview of the critical topics and leading issues in the disinformation research stream, which spans multiple disciplines, including media studies, political communication, computer science, defense, and business research.
