ABSTRACT
The peace process in the Middle East seems to have stalled while the thorny issue of the Palestinians' political fate is debated. The Palestinian problem is inextricably linked with the destiny of the occupied territories, principally the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Disagreement over the destiny of the Palestinians, reflected in the debates concerning future scenarios for governance over the territories is as strong as ever.
