ABSTRACT
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) plays a central role in advancing the environmental dimension of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UNEP's work intersects with numerous SDGs, particularly those addressing climate action, biodiversity, and sustainable consumption and production. This entry highlights UNEP's evolving contributions to global environmental governance, its capacity to foster partnerships and its efforts to ensure environmental data and science guide the implementation of the SDGs.
