ABSTRACT
The Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) was the international body principally responsible for reviewing progress on the implementation of Agenda 21 and the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, adopted at the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), also known as the Earth Summit. It met annually for 20 years between June 1993 and September 2013 until it was replaced by the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
