ABSTRACT

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development comprising 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 169 targets is structured around 5 priorities: People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership. Known as the ‘5 Ps’ they underscore the interconnected nature of the SDGs, where progress in one area requires advancement in others. ‘People’ emphasizes ending poverty and hunger with dignity and equality and acknowledges that a healthy environment is vital. ‘Planet’ focuses on protecting ecosystems and climate. ‘Prosperity’ promotes sustainable, equitable growth in harmony with nature. ‘Peace’ seeks peaceful, just and inclusive societies. ‘Partnership’ calls for collaboration, especially for supporting the poorest and most vulnerable. Addressing siloed implementation and identifying synergies can help advance all priority areas.
