ABSTRACT
In the introductory chapter, we present the basic elements of the organization management structured in three parts: management practice, divided into empirical management practice and scientific management practice; management science/theory, focused on the definition and characteristics of management science, management processes and relationships, and general management principles; and management philosophy, presenting its beginning and development, a new definition, content, and perspectives. From this chapter, the reader will gain a new vision and approach to management, focused for the first time on the management relationships in addition to management processes, which provides the background for the understanding and use of the new general management paradigm “manager/leader–relevant stakeholder,” which is the revolutionary management innovation representing the main content of this book. Based on recent developments, the chapter also explains the interrelations between management practice, management science/theory, and management philosophy, revealing new pragmatic and scientific aspects and perspectives in the context of the transition to a knowledge- and digital-based economy and society.
