ABSTRACT
This introductory chapter provides an overview of the book, setting the stage for the in-depth exploration of cultural expertise across its theoretical, legal, and practical dimensions. It anticipates the main topics and questions that will be addressed, guiding readers through the evolution of cultural expertise from its anthropological roots to its current role as an interdisciplinary tool applied within diverse legal systems. The chapter highlights how cultural expertise has become essential for addressing issues of cultural diversity, minority rights, and inclusive justice while underscoring the need for robust theoretical frameworks and ethical guidelines.
