ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the topic of the book: the shooting that happened on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School carried out by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. This chapter discusses the participants involved with the research undertaken. The 12 participants, including the author, were students at Columbine High School at the time of the shooting on April 20, 1999, and have gone on to teach at some time in their professional careers. The chapter gives professional information about each participant and explains the author’s role as a participant and her personal history. A table introducing the participants is included. A discussion of epistemic exploitation and its relevance to this book concludes the chapter.
