ABSTRACT

Peace is an essential value constituting one of the fundamental factors ensuring the security of human life and its development. Many different ideologies and the institutions that represent them analyze the significance of peace from different perspectives. In the Christian religion, the task of building peace comes directly from the Gospel. Peace has both an individual and social dimension. The need for peace arises from within the person, but it is directed towards the common good and becomes an important challenge for the Christian. Both forms of peace, personal and social, are closely related. In the complex and dynamic reality of the global world, the search for solid foundations and proven methods in striving for peace can be drawn from the rich repertoire of Christian values. The pedagogy of peace created on this religious basis goes far beyond the individual aspect and confessional obligations.
