ABSTRACT

This chapter argues for education as a fundamental human right that combats the marginalization of individuals, a driver of social conflicts. It advocates that education should focus on human rights themselves, empowering individuals to become advocates for rights within their communities. The chapter illustrates how such education, particularly through the initiatives of the Salesians of Don Bosco, can contribute significantly to education for peace (EFP). This can be achieved by fostering awareness, respect, and understanding of human rights, thereby mitigating social problems and conflicts in the pursuit of global and sustainable development.
