ABSTRACT
The chapter contains the results of a literature review on value creation and co-creation, conducted on the basis of the assumptions of a systematic literature review. The method used is discussed in subchapters 2.1 and 2.3. At first, the focus was placed on the concept of value and the identifiable forms of value. The whole area of management and quality sciences, and the context of cultural institutions and museums, was taken into account. Having identified and characterised value, the focus was shifted to the theoretical exploration of value creation. The chapter also presents the results of a literature review on value co-creation (also in the context of museums) and concepts related to value co-creation. The final subchapter discusses the links between value co-creation and the changes taking place in the museum’s functioning.
