ABSTRACT
In the last chapter, I mentioned that humans need structures of meaning. They certainly do to organize themselves, to grow food, care for the weak, defend themselves, build cities, and otherwise act collectively. But the need is also more intimate. This chapter tells stories about structures of meaning and their collapse.
