ABSTRACT
In this chapter Genevieve Liveley describes some of her work with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), part of GCHQ. She explains how her ongoing engagement with the National Technical Authority for Cyber Security has drawn upon her research in classics and narratology. In particular, she discusses the unexpected salience of classical myths as tools for ‘explainable security’ and the value of ‘humanities in the loop’ for sociotechnical research in cyber security.
