ABSTRACT
A study of 156 Slovenian higher and adult education teachers found widespread acceptance of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, with ChatGPT being the most popular. Educators value AI for research and content development but remain hesitant about using it for assessment and management. While they believe AI will enhance their professional performance and productivity, they're reluctant to support student use of AI for assignments. Their primary concerns involve ethical issues like accountability, bias, transparency, and data security rather than job-related worries. Despite daily AI use, most lack formal training and express a strong interest in professional development. The research highlights an urgent need for targeted professional development initiatives and policy interventions to address resource inequalities.
