ABSTRACT
School curricula in the modern era are dominated by a form of science which is fluid, stochastic, non-normative, reductionist, decontextualising, associational and physicalist. Scientific school subjects typically include biology, chemistry, physics and sometimes earth science or environmental science. These subjects form the core of science education, providing students with a foundation in understanding the natural world.
