ABSTRACT
In 1976, Tzu Chi expanded its reach across Taiwan. This chapter details the establishment of the Hengchun Chapter in Pingtung, which extended Tzu Chi's charitable activities to the southernmost part of Taiwan. Under the guidance of Master Zhu Ding from Longquan Temple, the chapter began monthly aid distributions to impoverished households, providing essential supplies such as rice and daily necessities. This year also marked Tzu Chi's 10th anniversary, where Master Cheng Yen emphasized the importance of expanding outreach efforts to benefit more people in need. Additionally, the chapter recounts the nine-day tour led by Master Cheng Yen and commissioners to revisit impoverished households around Taiwan, reinforcing Tzu Chi's commitment to providing ongoing support and care.
