ABSTRACT
This concluding chapter sums up the argument articulated in the book, offering a comprehensive, evidence-based, and theoretically informed answer to the research puzzle outlined in the Introduction. The threads that have been so carefully woven through the volume do finally intersect here, providing my readers with a detailed overview of Central Asia’s pandemic politics and their impact on the quality of governance across the region. My conclusions unravel the nexus between emergency politics and democratic decay, setting out new directions for the study of post-pandemic patterns of authoritarian entrenchment.
