ABSTRACT

We opened this book by writing individual opening statements; we close this book by writing letters. This time, our invitation is shaped and inspired by our collective action of nurturing this book into existence, as well as by our life journeys and professional pathways as they became increasingly entangled over many weekends, trips, and even a transcontinental wedding. Once you read the epilogue, it will become clear to you that this entanglement is likely to escalate further (we have come to embrace the notion of ‘existendipilation’, as we framed it in the introduction). For, in parallel with completing this book, we have started co-creating a School of Regenerative Educators. We hope that this book has been as transformative for you to read as it has been for us to co-create. We also know that it will likely take many more months and years for all the rippling of this book to manifest itself in our own engagement with regenerative educatorship. We hope that it works in a similar way for you. In each of our closing letters, we reflect on how this endeavour has been transformative for ourselves and, perhaps most importantly, what new ‘long-thought’ question(s) 1 it encourages us to hold. In a way, by sharing all this with you, we hope to inspire you to develop your own unique long-thought question. Or, in the words of our mentors at Regenesis Institute, to help you gain a deeper understanding of your promise-beyond-ableness as a regenerative educator.
