ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces the concept of performative beauty through the lens of Argentine tango, a social dance practised by the author. It challenges traditional aesthetics by proposing that beauty can be experienced in one’s own actions. Drawing on personal experience and philosophical reflection, this chapter argues for a broadened notion of beauty that includes embodied, somatic, and performative experiences. It sets the stage for a pragmatist and somaesthetic inquiry into the conditions and mechanisms that enable such experiences.
