ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the role of play and playfulness in performative beauty. Drawing on Dewey, Schiller, and Fink, it argues that aesthetic experience is inherently playful, involving experimentation, surrender, and imaginative engagement. Dancing is presented as a playground where dancers investigate movement possibilities. Playfulness is shown to be a medium for beautiful experiences and a locus for the emergence of life itself.
