ABSTRACT
This chapter concludes the study by proposing targeted policy recommendations to enhance China's manufacturing role in the era of digital global value chains (GVCs). The recommendations are structured across three key areas: strengthening manufacturing's participation in digital GVCs and accelerating its digital transformation; focusing on high-quality development driven by digital technology, particularly in green transition and trade cost reduction; and improving top-level design and coordination, involving flexible regulation, labor and capital allocation, and addressing digital divides between sectors. These integrated strategies aim to leverage digitalization for innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth, thereby securing a more competitive and resilient position for China's manufacturing sector within the global digital economy.
