ABSTRACT

This chapter is a case study of Électricité de France (EDF) in which the company’s initiatives for achieving digital transformation and AI integration are examined through the lenses of the proprietary energy security framework (described in Chapter 6) and the Human-Agent-Culture-Architecture (HACA) framework (described in Chapter 7). Using data from 2024 and 2025 that are publicly available, this analysis illustrates how EDF is a prime example of a company that has attempted to integrate agentic organizational transformation and energy security imperatives. The study shows that while EDF has made substantial progress in addressing many aspects of energy security through digital innovation, its full implementation of agentic AI systems remains in the early stages.
