ABSTRACT

Gift giving is a metaphorical concept that is used to connect the facilitator and proper technique to bring about positive change for the client. There are four quadrants dictating behavior that can be analyzed by using the Johari window structure. Quadrant one is where two negatives are presented and the clients wonder why they are being given this facilitation and how come this facilitation is so negative. Quadrant two finds that while facilitation is positive, the way it is presided and presented leaves much to be desired. Quadrant three is used when the environment becomes the issue and while the subject is good, the environment is so toxic that the value of the gift forgotten. It is truly beneficial when the process as well as the product of the gift is given (quadrant four). This form of facilitation is sought after by most exceptional adventure therapy experience professionals.
