ABSTRACT
This chapter addresses research ethics and the understanding of ethical research as that which values the well-being of participants and researchers alike. It begins by outlining the emergence of the principles and values on which research ethics are based. It then turns to a feminist ethics, introducing different schools of ethics and explaining why a feminist ethics has focused on the issue of care and articulating a care ethics grounded in intersectionality, positionality, and decolonisation. Finally, it explores how this care ethics can be applied to feminist research, employing case studies from GenUrb to emphasise the nuances and challenges of conducting ethical feminist research.
