ABSTRACT
Overall, this study adds to the significant body of international research that indicates the multiple effects of school autonomy reform are counterproductive to social justice in Australia and other anglophone nations. This chapter summarises the school autonomy reform project's key findings and draws on the research of international scholars of school autonomy to answer the question: what needs to happen for school systems to enable school autonomy to effect social justice?
