ABSTRACT

Industrial agriculture, with its control and manipulation of seeds and farmed animals, has produced unhealthy food, ruined biodiversity and hit farmers hard. It fails to see the sentience which is abundant in so many beings, apart from ourselves. Nature abhors monocultures and uniformity, the rationale of industrial agriculture.

In contrast, regenerative, agroecological farming nourishes the soil, encourages biodiversity and respects farmers and their communities. It reduces farming’s impact on the environment and climate. It takes farmed animals out of their cages and crates and gives them access to pasture and a more natural way of life. It is based on compassion, embracing the earth and all its abundance of life.
