ABSTRACT
Weaving together central insights from earlier chapters, this concluding chapter envisions the transformative role of socially engaged arts in higher arts education. It highlights how socially engaged arts can support institutions in fulfilling their Third Mission of meaningful societal contribution. The chapter examines how these practices foster collaboration, empathy, and interdisciplinary dialogue, driving social change through inclusive and diverse approaches. Also, it discusses the ethical responsibility of higher education institutions to integrate socially engaged arts into curricula, enabling critical reflection and co-creation to address global challenges. Ultimately, the chapter underscores socially engaged arts’ potential to inspire human development, planetary well-being, and a more inclusive, resilient society, positioning higher arts education as a dynamic force for positive transformation.
