ABSTRACT
In the context of the 21st century, the rapid expansion of information technology and digital media has led to significant advancements in Chinese online literature, and its translation has extended into the English-speaking world. This phenomenon aligns with the Chinese government's aspiration to globalize its literary output, consequently elevating the recognition and importance of Chinese online literature both domestically and internationally. This chapter critically investigates the various aspects of Chinese online literature's presence in anglophone markets, encompassing its definition, categorization, translation methods, transmission mechanisms, as well as its reception and interpretation. By delving into these dimensions, the chapter presents a novel outlook on the global impact of Chinese online literature. Of particular interests are the translation practices employed for Chinese online literature in Western contexts, showcasing the dynamic and flourishing landscape of Chinese literature within interactive and information-driven communication platforms, such as websites. Notably, the phenomenon of Chinese Internet literature serves as an exemplary case for the dissemination and reception of Chinese literary works on a global scale.
