ABSTRACT

The need to consider ultimate outcomes arises when the entrepreneurial journey is seen simply as a vehicle for delivering other benefits such as financial wealth or recognition. The ability to reach the next milestone is typically associated with persistence, the stamina to keep going. The internal pressures or considerations have to do with wanting to get to the next milestone. The external pressures or considerations have to do with whether we have the energy or resources to get to the next milestone. Our time is a critical resource in the sense that we can devote it to productive activities that enable us to financially support ourselves and our family. The ability to change direction requires flexibility to reconsider our approach and our options as well as ability to reflect on our journey so far and consider going back to take a different turn. The internal constraints pertain to our perceived roadmap or plan for the journey.
