ABSTRACT
In the fourth chapter, epidemiological data in Japan and psychological investigations in and outside Japan are first detailed. In the second half, and one of the most interesting features of this chapter, I synthesize the Cabinet Office surveys dedicated to the two generations of hikikomori: shut-ins aged 15–39 (2010, 2016) and shut-ins aged 40–64 (2019).
