ABSTRACT

In this concluding chapter, I summarize the contributions that my research makes to the study of immigrant activism in highly hostile environments. I argue that my study presents important insights beyond the case of Italy and helps us reframe resistance today in light of immigrant mobilizations and right claims. The chapter reviews the theoretical and empirical contributions, before setting out the recommendations for future research and my final remarks on the implications of this study for practitioners and human rights defenders. The chapter ends with crucial questions concerning how we can reimagine a European anti-racist movement that can aim to become anti-racist in light of the findings of this book.
