ABSTRACT

After the courses reported on in this book ended, I stayed in touch with all four teachers through e-mail, telephone calls, personal visits, and occasional observations of their classes. All four had deepened their commitment to using new technologies in the classroom and were trying to improve their teaching based on the experiences they had in the semester I was working with them. Each teacher’s efforts continued to be shaped by the sociocultural context of their institution, and all the teachers were actively involved in shaping that context by working to promote the use of technology in their departments and colleges.
