ABSTRACT
This chapter will explain how the OAI-ORE data model can be applied to exchange information about Enhanced Publications. Such guidelines are needed, since the OAI-ORE effort does not limit itself to connecting publications with data sets. It offers a broad framework for compound digital objects in general. The OAI-ORE vocabulary can be used in RDF statements to specify that a collection of URI-identified resources together form a compound object. The advantage of OAI-ORE is that it can be adopted to encapsulate distributed resources. OAI-ORE focuses on resources, and not on repositories. Basics of the OAI-ORE model The diagram represents the basics of the OAI-ORE model. It includes three main components: ore:ResourceMap, ore:Aggregation, and ore:AggregatedResource. The ore:ResourceMap describes the ore:Aggregation, which in turn is described by the ore:ResourceMap. The ore:Aggregation aggregates the ore:AggregatedResource, and the ore:AggregatedResource is aggregated by the ore:Aggregation. Arrows indicate the directional relationships between these components. https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xlink:href="https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781003694823/a96ee95e-25b6-4ab1-989b-a5b871cc0cbe/content/fig_12.tif"/>
