ABSTRACT
The Movie-Maker was made by the Vitascope Corporation in the USA in 1931. It is a compact and light 16mm movie camera, measuring 7.1 x 5.1 x 1.8 inches (18 x 13 x 4.5 cm) and weighing only 2.2 lbs (1 kg). The intermittent movement is driven solely by a hand crank. It has a built-in lens of fixed aperture and focus. The camera takes 50 ft (15 m) spools of double perforated 16mm film, which give a running time of about two minutes at 16 fps. An “Empty – Full” gauge is supplied on the side of the camera above the hand crank to roughly indicate how much film has been used.
