ABSTRACT
This is a book about the works, life and times of Kurt Baschwitz. His first book for a larger audience was published soon after the First World War. It was imbued with his experiences, feelings, and views about the conflict: its origins, atrocities, and propaganda from both sides. It is therefore imperative to delve somewhat deeper into the polemics of those days, and into more recent research about these same issues. 1
