ABSTRACT
In pre-survey days, Henry Ford is reputed to have said, "The public can have any color car it wants, so long as it wants black." Now the public can roar back an answer to such statements and policies. Surveys have gone beyond political questions to cover all of our wishes and preferences, from whether we'd like to have screw caps on bottles to what we think of instant coffee or capital punishment.
