ABSTRACT

In ordinary homes, practical use of the technology relevant to computers and networks, including the Internet, is increasing quickly with the rapid spread of high-speed and mass networks, such as ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line), CATV (cable antenna television), and FTTH (fiber to the home). The demand for the processing speed of a system is increasing with the spread of the Internet and multimedia. Although the central processing unit (CPU) acceleration every year has corresponded to this increase, the data transmission speed of the electric wiring in the equipment is a bottleneck, and the 191processing speed of a system is restricted. Some serious problems are occurring in electric wiring.

Fan out of high speed signals are restricted by wiring length. Moreover, wiring area and power consumption are increasing.

As driving frequency gets high, wiring on printed wiring board becomes difficult, so as to equalize wiring length.

As the number of LSI high speed I/O pin increases, wiring on printed wiring board becomes complicated. This results in increase of EMI (electromagnetic interference) noises.
