ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an overall view about the contents of the book and discusses how the book fills the gap in the current literature. The book consists of three main parts including chapters about conceptual frameworks in Part I, critical discussion and empirical study chapters in Part II, and practical and applicable practices in Part III. The chapter discusses that previous study research has focused on examining the impacts of governmental policies and institutional programmes on students’ transition experiences. Little has been known about the role of students and graduates in managing their transition experiences. Personal capitals have been reported as important factors determining students’ transitions and how chapters of this book will further develop this line of research. The chapter especially discusses the contributions of this book to the current body of research about students’ education transitions and graduate employability.
