ABSTRACT
The FIRESIDE MAGAZINE was a monthly that published just one volume (twelve issues) in 1819. During the first nine months the subtitle was Monthly Epitome, pointing to its special feature of including excerpts from reviews in other journals, as well as its own original reviews; two of the latter and one example of the magazine’s epitomizing are reprinted in these volumes.
