ABSTRACT

The tension between peace and justice, or between those who prioritize one over the other, is a bit of a misnomer. The “debate” is not really between peace and justice. Everyone agrees that both are important and valuable. But there is much less agreement on how to achieve both when they are in tension. It is here that the conversation begins, and too often ends, usually without much understanding between the different perspectives. Recognizing these differences is the first step.
