ABSTRACT
An op-amp–based astable multivibrator can be extended to perform as a voltage-to-period (V/T) converter or a voltage-to-frequency (V/f) converter. Peak detecting multipliers and peak sampling multipliers can be developed using these V/T and V/f converters and are described in this chapter. The multiplexing type peak responding multipliers and the switching-type peak responding multipliers using a voltage-to-period converter are shown and their associated waveforms also are shown. The chapter explains the working operation of the multipliers. The peak responding multipliers using a voltage-to-frequency converter are shown and their associated waveforms are also shown.
