ABSTRACT

A person’s personality traits tend to be consistent with one another. It is doubtful that a person would be both aggressive and shy or happy-go-lucky and apprehensive. For example, people are often classified as either Type A or Type B personalities, where each type is a bundle of correlated traits. These two personality types differ from one another in their desires for achievement, perfectionism, competitiveness, and ability to relax. Type A traits include high need for achievement, perfectionism, competitiveness, restlessness, impatience, aggressiveness, and nervousness. In contrast, Type Bs are less achievement oriented, nor perfectionists, relaxed, easy going, and they tend to “take it slow.” Their motto is, “What? Me worry?”
