ABSTRACT

Chapter 10 outlines relapse prevention methods, designed to ensure that CBT-T continues to have its effects into the follow-up period and beyond. The stress is on reinforcing the patient’s sense of having made the changes themselves, rather than being dependent on the clinician’s contribution. A therapy blueprint is used to assist with this learning and planning process. There is also consideration of any residual symptoms that might benefit from the use of specific self-help work over coming months. We plan for how the two follow-up sessions will be used. Clinical examples are used to illustrate these methods
