ABSTRACT
Introduction Phoenix’s new library is part of a conscious effort to make a cultural infrastructure commensurate to the city’s growth into one of the ten largest urban areas in the United States. It is seen as an anchor for the southern portion of the proposed arts district, which will include a new art museum, history museum, and public art programme along the many highways.
