ABSTRACT

Plane mirrors are made from a piece of glass polished on one side. All plane mirrors form an upright image equal to the height of the object placed in front them. Plane mirrors are used in simple reflection applications, such as building optic and optical fibre devices. The reflection of light from a smooth shiny surface is more clear and focused than the reflection of light from a rough surface. The chapter presents Seven experimental lab cases that study the formation of images when an object or a laser beam source is placed in front of a plane mirror. The cases are: a candle placed in front of a fixed plane mirror and between two plane mirrors at right angles, tracing a laser beam passing between two plane mirrors at different angles, and tracing a laser beam incident on a rotating plane mirror.
