ABSTRACT
The author videotaped matches of the Austrian top players (players in the Austrian top 20 ranking for male single badminton as recorded in May 2006) in the year 2005 and 2006. These matches and videos of international players (top 20 world ranking as recorded in May 2006) from the year 2005 and 2006 were analysed. Twenty games of international top players and the same number of games of Austrian top players were evaluated. This added up to approximately 20,000 shots by the elite international players and 13,000 by Austrian players.
